On Friday, a Kenyan lady who goes by the handle @blackcinderella254 on Instagram shared a disturbing video in which she tagged Nigerian popular news handles, expressing her grievances regarding the harassment of Nigerian men by Kenyan police and immigration officials.

As funny as the video may sound, the corruption within the Kenyan police and immigration forces deserves to be number one in the global ranking on corruption.

It’s important to note that the harassment and deportation experienced by husbands, fathers, and partners, which this woman raised concerns about, is not limited to Kenyans alone. Nigerians are indeed victims.

I have a personal experience to share on this disturbing incident. During my sister’s family vacation to Kenya, a distressing incident occurred involving the Kenyan police. They discreetly isolated her husband and instructed my sister not to follow them. Thankfully, a Kenyan bystander informed her that if she didn’t accompany her husband, the police would extort a significant amount of money from him and promptly deport him right there if he couldn’t pay.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, she immediately followed them, questioning why her husband was being targeted and what his alleged offense was. She raised her voice and persisted until, after some time, they released him without extracting any money.

This distressing occurrence has become an alarming pattern in Kenya. Both unmarried and married men fall victim to this treacherous trend. If you happen to be a male planning a vacation there, it is crucial to exercise caution.
